On March 6, 2026, the Moynihan Center brought together students and staff from the Volcker Alliance’s Next Generation Service Corps schools across New York City and New Jersey for the NextGen Regional Meeting. Joining the Moynihan Public Service Fellows were participants from Baruch College, Rutgers University–Newark, and Montclair State University for a day of connection, collaboration, and professional development.
Colin Powell School Dean Marc Ostfield delivered the keynote address, followed by presentations on networking and upcoming student opportunities. The event also featured a panel of four public service professionals who spoke about their paths to careers in public service.
The Volcker Alliance’s Next Generation Service Corps (NextGen Service) is a national network of university programs designed to prepare undergraduates for public service careers through leadership development, experiential learning, and partnerships.
Since 2024, the Moynihan Center has housed the Next Generation Service’s CCNY outpost, interfacing directly with NextGen, and enhancing opportunities for Moynihan Public Service Fellows to learn more about public service values.
About the NextGen Service Program
Currently, twenty schools are part of the growing network. The Next Generation Service Corps was co-founded by the Volcker Alliance and Arizona State University, whose Public Service Academy served as the inspiration and model for the NextGen Service program.
