The MPA Program is proud to highlight the achievements of our alumni. These spotlights celebrate the diverse paths our alumni take. Caroline proudly graduated from our Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program this past May!
What brought you to the City College of New York and to the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership?
I chose the Colin Powell School because of the emphasis on social justice. I found it unique that the school had a variety of programming.
What are you most proud of accomplishing during your time in the MPA Program?
I am most proud of my confidence/ability to speak to the system and challenge the status quo in front of organizations and public service leaders. I also changed my mind about being an educator and wanting to move into a space where I can make administrative/policy changes in schools.
Share your favorite memories from your time in the MPA Program.
My favorite memories during the MPA program are working in groups with my colleagues because we shared the same goals and ambitions.
What advice would you give to current or future MPA students?
Being wrong is a prerequisite for learning! Show up to your classes prepared to speak from your social justice hearts! Your personal stories will allow you to talk back to the SYSTEM! Remember the power of the story you tell when you walk into any room.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to work in educational consulting, particularly in organizational culture and student support, I am looking into secondary education and higher education.
