CCNY Campus

Welcome to the Colin Powell School at The City College of New York. We house CCNY’s Social Science Departments, which include Anthropology and Interdisciplinary Programs, Economics and Business, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology, as well as the College’s Core Leadership Development and Public Service Programs. With almost 4,000 students, and graduating the most CCNY students annually, the Colin Powell School is educating the next generation of global leaders through a lens of social justice and civic engagement.

We support a faculty dedicated to the highest standards of research and to the university’s democratic and public obligations. In a true reflection of New York City, our student body is half-immigrant, more than 70% are first-generation college students, and 80% are people of color.

Lincoln Ajoku Major in Economics and Minor in International Studies
“What I did at City College helped me see the possibilities for an enriching career in international development. Whether that was through study abroad, in which I completed a business course in China; researching political and economic integration in the African continent; or becoming a Jeannette Watson Fellow where I got to take part in some meaningful summer internships — CCNY helped shape my outlook on the world”
Alice Mills Mai ‘13, B.A. in Psychology
“I chose CCNY because it was close to home (Bronx), and the diversity of the student and faculty population encouraged me to pursue my degree there. At CCNT I had the opportunity to meet people that have become part of my network both professionally and personally.”
Alice is now Founder/CEO at Centering Wholeness Counseling
