DEPARTMENT OF ANTHROPOLOGY AND INTERDISCIPLINARY PROGRAMS

The Latin American and Latino Studies program offers a minor that engages students in an introductory study of Hispanic Caribbean Heritage, Latin American Civilization, and Latin American History.

Through the study of one of the above areas, in addition to four electives, students with the minor gain exposure to the political, historical, socioeconomic, and cultural scholarship in the field.

Requirements

To obtain a Minor in Latin American and Latino Studies, students must complete 5 courses and a total of 15 credits within the program which can be usefully and easily combined with majors in other departments. Credits must be distributed across one introductory course and four program electives.

Students must meet with a faculty advisor, to declare their intention to minor in Latin American and Latino Studies, to access the full list of available courses, and to discuss the program requirements for declaring a minor. Courses must be chosen in consultation with a departmental advisor.
