The BA Psychology Online program includes coursework leading to a Bachelors of Art (B.A.) degree in Psychology through fully online asynchronous coursesTake classes at your own pace and on your own time. The BA degree in Psychology is intended for students pursuing careers in counseling, clinical psychology, and social work.  BA students can choose from an exceptionally wide range of courses, studying the impact of biology, family, culture, and society on individual development, and covering topics such as trauma, psychotherapy, neuroanatomy, child psychopathology and queer psychology.

Degree Requirements

To obtain a Bachelors of Art Degree in Psychology, students must complete at least 120 credits which includes an estimated 30 credits in General Education, 12 credits of College Option courses.

Majors typically take a total of 35 credits within the Psychology program, of which 11 are required courses and 3 in Speech. The remaining 21 credits are distributed across Gateway Requirements (Major Concentrations) and Advanced Courses. Undergraduates must take at least one course in three of the four Major Concentration Areas.

All advanced courses use the required 200-level gateway courses as prerequisites. PSY 32100 is either a prerequisite or co-requisite for all 300-level courses and does NOT count toward the advanced courses required. These courses must be chosen in consultation with a departmental advisor.

The remaining credits to fulfill the 120 credits required for CCNY BA in Psychology are free electives.
