The program’s cross-functional curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation in business, economics, entrepreneurship, communication, and quantitative methods while also allowing students to explore various subfields within business administration and management.

DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS

The Business Administration and Management Major is designed to empower students with the leadership skills and knowledge to promote social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion and to respond to the most complex challenges in today’s business markets and society.

With an emphasis on the economic and management theories that underpin market dynamics and an organization’s behavior, students in the Business and Administration major will engage in understanding the essential business fundamentals and the leadership competencies vital for assessing the social and financial contexts in which today’s organizations sit and to lead them towards success. Students learn how to use analytic tools for analyzing data, making forecasts, and managing uncertainty to advance the interconnections between organizations, markets, governments, and global society.

Degree Requirements

To obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management and Administration, students must complete at least 120 credits which includes an estimated 30 credits in General Education, 12 credits of College Option courses.

Majors typically take a total of 43 credits within the Management and Administration program. Courses are selected in consultation with the department’s faculty student advisor across Primary courses, Major Core courses, Major Field courses, Major Elective courses, and a Capstone course.

The remaining credits to fulfill the 120 credits required for a CCNY BA in Management and Administration are free electives.

Current students may review their progress completing the major requirements by logging onto Degree Works.
