This past May 3rd, the Powell School Alumni Relations team hosted its first professional development event for alumni, a LinkedIn-focused workshop, during The City College of New York’s 3rd Annual Homecoming Day.
The session titled “Level Up Your LinkedIn” was led by Gabriel Foreman, Executive in Residence and Co-Founder of Duro Workforce, and offered alumni practical techniques to enhance their LinkedIn presence. Participants explored the benefits of building a strong online brand and expanding their professional network. They also learned how to improve their headlines, optimize their profiles, and received personalized, one-on-one support.
This workshop marked an exciting step forward in our alumni engagement efforts, especially as we begin developing more career-focused opportunities for our community. The workshop was just one of the highlights of the vibrant CCNY Homecoming lineup. Alumni had the chance to enjoy campus tours, a visit to the CCNY Planetarium, live music, student performances, and an art exhibition.
The City College of New York ideated the annual Homecoming celebration as a way to bring alumni back to campus, engage with its extensive community, reconnect and celebrate.
