Pedro José Ortega holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Paris Vincennes-Saint-Denis, France. He is currently a Senior Research Associate at the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute (CUNY-DSI). As a full-time researcher in the field of philosophy and social sciences, his work aims at creating an interpretive framework on the trends of philosophical and social ideas of the 20th and 21st centuries in Latin America and the Caribbean. With a special interest in the utopian work of Pedro Henríquez Ureña, he has published articles and interviews in special issues. Ortega was the editor and publisher of the book by the Dominican philosopher Enerio Rodríguez: Dissertationes Aenerianae: disertaciones de Enerio sobre temas diversos. He has recently edited a series of studies on critical thinking, which are collected in the anthologies Decolonialidad, emancipación y utopía en América Latina y el Caribe (CUNY-DSI and Clacso, 2023) and Posdesarrollo y políticas de convivialidad (Forthcoming by CUNY-DSI and Clacso Press, 2024).
