Dr. Kameshwari Shankar is an Associate Professor of Economics and Business at the Colin Powell School, CCNY and an affiliated faculty at the CUNY Graduate Center. She received her economics doctoral degree from Cornell University and her undergraduate and masters degree in Economics from Delhi University, India. She brieflly worked in Antitrust Consulting before joining City College.
Her main area of research is Applied Microeconomic Theory, specifically, Industrial Organization and Labor and Personnel Economics. She has published in top field journals such as Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Human Capital, Journal of Economics and Management Strategy and Economic Inquiry. Her work has been cited in the New York Times. Dr. Shankar teaches courses in Microeconomics and related fields such as Game Theory and Industrial Organization at the undergrduate, graduate and Ph.D. levels.
