President’s 2025 Faculty and Staff Service & Excellence Awards

Every year, The City College of New York celebrates the President’s Faculty and Staff Service & Excellence Awards, also called STAR (Service, Teamwork, Action, Results) Awards. The award recognizes full-time employees, not including faculty, who have served at least twelve months with CCNY, and have demonstrated outstanding leadership in service, teamwork, action, and results.

We are thrilled to celebrate the Powell School staff members recognized in this year’s awards. Ana Guerrero, HE Assistant in the Department of Economics and Business, was recognized recognition for her outstanding contributions, collaborative spirit, and commitment to improving the campus community.

Karen Struening, Adjunct Associate Professor of Political Science, received the President’s Award for Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Service, and the Provost’s Award for Outstanding Teaching was awarded to Waleed Sami, Assistant Professor of Psychology.

Our dedicated faculty and staff were also honored for their years of service to the College. Longevity Award recipients included:
