On Thursday, May 1st, the Political Science Department celebrated the achievements of its students at the annual Political Science Department Awards. From undergraduates to master’s students, the ceremony recognized academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to public service across the department’s wide-ranging programs.
In the undergraduate program, students were honored for their distinction in major subfields of political science. Mohammed Barrie was recognized for excellence in International Relations (presented by Diana Greenwald); Leila Francesca McBride earned the award in Comparative Politics (presented by Dirk Moses); Alison Holst was honored in American Politics (presented by Dan DiSalvo). Jennifer Zingone and Anna Plotnick shared the award for Best Overall Political Science Major.
Other notable honorees included Kayla Bellin for Political Theory (presented by Mira Morgenstern), Billie Estrine for Human Rights (presented by Bruce Cronin), Kyle Gardner for Legal Studies (presented by Raphaelle Khan), and Sage Moccia for Public Policy (presented by Carlo Accetti).
The ceremony also highlighted achievements in the International Affairs Master’s Program. Cherisse Bovell received the Award for Best Graduating Student, while Collin Fernandes was recognized for earning the highest GPA in the program. John Krey received the Award for Best Thesis, and Ishaka Kondeh was celebrated for Leadership in Global Justice.
