The Colin Powell—Bloom Energy Innovation Fellowship aims to provide students with an intensive summer internship experience at Bloom Energy, a leading manufacturer in the fuel cell industry, along with professional development and a unique cohort-based experience — all while staying in California!

Ahnaf Jamali
Ahnaf Jamali

Ahnaf Jamali is a Mechanical Engineering grad student at The City College of New York. He has pursued his passion for the field and built experience through insightful internships and hands-on research; tackling challenges using practical and unique solutions. Through his experiences, he has built a strong foundation in technical design, design for manufacturing, and process optimization. As a Bloom Energy Fellow, Ahnaf will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize mechanical system designs, streamline process flows, and enhance equipment reliability. Ahnaf is eager to apply his diverse skill set and motivated mindset to sustainable energy solutions at an industry leading fuel cell manufacturer, committed to providing next-gen clean energy technologies. In his free time he enjoys hiking and traveling.

Asim Uddin
Asim Uddin

Asim Uddin is a Junior at CUNY City College, pursuing a degree in Economics with a minor in Business Administration and Management. Asim will be interning with Bloom Energy as a Business Operations intern. This role was achieved through a culmination of great effort, allowing Asim to put all his past experiences to fruition. Asim’s interest in sustainability stemmed from a family project of his, where he contributes and funds sustainability practices in Bangladesh. Asim’s goal within this internship is to use his skills in data analysis and management to help optimize Bloom Energies operations and take care of any inefficiencies from within, whether its cutting costs or improving process times. He will improve his skills on a technical and professional level tremendously and help contribute towards a cleaner world.  

Muhammad Ahmed
Muhammad Ahmed

Muhammad’s expertise in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Node.js, and MongoDB, combined with his previous experience in software engineering, will allow him to thrive in this collaborative, innovative environment. He hopes to integrate machine learning models to solve problems and contribute to optimizing processes at Bloom Energy, while continuing to advance his career in the energy sector and global sustainability challenges.

Cindy Zheng
Cindy Zheng

This summer, Cindy will join Bloom Energy as a Data Analytics – Service Operations Intern. In this role, she will support key operational functions by migrating and organizing resource databases, gathering and analyzing performance data, and automating reporting processes. Her work will help streamline workflows and enhance data accessibility across teams. Cindy is excited to contribute to Bloom Energy’s mission by combining her technical and interpersonal skills to support sustainable operations and energy innovation. 

Sage Arias Vargas
Sage Arias Vargas

Sage Arias Vargas is a Senior at The City College of New York’s, Colin Powell School, majoring in Financial Economics with a deep commitment to addressing healthcare inequality through policy and innovation. With academic and professional experience at the intersection of economics, public policy, and social impact, Sage aspires to build a career focused on expanding equitable access to healthcare and driving systemic change in underserved communities. This summer, Sage is a Policy Intern at Bloom Energy, where she supports the Policy and Government Affairs team. In this role, she conducts research on federal and state policy landscapes, tracks legislative and regulatory developments, and contributes to strategic materials that help advance Bloom’s clean energy mission. While Bloom operates in the energy sector, Sage views energy access as a critical social determinant of health and sees her internship as part of a broader journey to advocate for infrastructure and policy solutions that improve public health outcomes. Her long term goal is to leverage her financial and policy background to lead initiatives that bridge economic and racial disparities in healthcare access.

Silvia Ahmed
Silvia Ahmed

Silvia Ahmed (she/her) is a mechanical engineering student at The City College of New York with a passion for creating scalable clean energy solutions for a sustainable future. She’s looking forward to joining Bloom Energy as a Mechanical Engineering Design Intern. Her early fascination with robotics and problem-solving in high school grew into a deeper academic interest in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and energy systems. She is particularly interested in bringing reliable power solutions to underserved and underdeveloped communities. As she joins Bloom Energy as a Mechanical Engineering Design Intern, Silvia looks forward to applying her skills to fuel cell and hydrogen projects that make renewable technologies more scalable and dependable. Silvia’s ultimate goal in life is to work in the renewable energy field to combat climate change, and this fellowship is a significant step towards achieving it. In her free time, she enjoys playing Minecraft and Valorant while taking care of her four cats.

Daniel Ogogo

At Bloom Energy, Daniel will be contributing to the finance team by applying his technical skills to analyze data, support budgeting and forecasting, and assist in strategic financial planning. Passionate about sustainable innovation and long-term value creation, he is eager to deepen his understanding of clean energy markets and help drive impactful, data-informed decisions.

Abdul-Rahman Azeez
Abdul-Rahman Azeez

Abdul is passionate about clean energy and hopes to build a career that blends sustainability and smart infrastructure. In his free time, he enjoys working out at the gym, watching movies, and building LEGO sets.
