City College students representing the Marshall Islands earned the Distinguished Delegation Award at the Spring 2025 National Model United Nations (NMUN) Conference in New York. The recognition honors teams that demonstrate exceptional preparation, strong research, well-crafted position papers, effective diplomacy, and active collaboration throughout committee sessions.
This year’s award holds special significance for the team, as it marks the first time since 2016 that CCNY’s Model UN program has received such recognition. Since its founding in 1980, and even earlier, when connected to the Black Studies Program, City College has maintained a proud tradition of participation in NMUN. Dayana Blanco Galo, a student at the Colin Powell School and member of the delegation shared “we truly felt we represented City College to the best of our ability diplomatically,” said Galo, “and being recognized in the General Assembly was a rewarding moment for all of us.”
Congratulations to all members of the delegation!
