On April 28th, the Social Mobility Lab at The City College of New York hosted its inaugural End-of-Year Summit – marking a significant milestone in our mission to discover new ways to accelerate and expand opportunity for our students, their families, and the communities they represent.
Over the course of the summit, we showcased research from our inaugural cohort of grantees addressing the many dimensions of social mobility, were moved as students shared their own stories of social mobility, heard about the unique role CCNY and the broader CUNY system play as engines of upward mobility and announced upcoming initiatives, including the Lab’s expanded programming, new grantees, and our vision for growing partnerships and impact.
This gathering brought together faculty, grantees, students, partners, and funders to reflect on the Lab’s work to date and share ideas for moving it forward.
