The Anthropology undergraduate program at the Colin Powell School offers a comprehensive exploration of what it means to be human in all our amazing diversity. Anthropology provides students with the tools for understanding our pasts, presents, and futures with a focus on culture, language, society, biology, politics, and economics. Anthropology offers students unique skills and insights needed to address the most pressing issues of our times like war, environmental racism, global health crises, migration, and cultural rights. In a competitive job market, our anthropology students have the edge because they are flexible, collaborative, and unbiased thinkers with real-life training in cross-cultural comparison that employers need. Degree Requirements

To obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology, students must complete at least 120 credits which includes an estimated 30 credits in General Education, 12 credits of College Option courses.

Majors typically take a total of 30 credits within the Anthropology program, of which 15 are distributed across required courses. The remaining 15 are program electives. As many as 6 of the 15 elective credits may be related courses within the Department such as in International and Global Studies or outside the Department of Anthropology and Interdisciplinary Programs, e.g., courses in Asian Studies, Biology, Black Studies, History, or Sociology.

The remaining credits to fulfill the 120 credits required for BA in Anthropology are free electives.
