Why Partner with Us?
We are proud to prepare some of the most talented students in the world, representing the diversity of background and experience needed by our nation to effectively tackle society’s most complex challenges. But all too often that talent goes undiscovered because of financial and societal constraints. Our students lack the means to participate in unpaid internships; most work part- and full-time hourly jobs to support themselves and their families. Because so many are the first in their family to go to college, they often do not have extensive social and professional networks. They also face systemic barriers to career development that particularly impact immigrant students and students of color. As CCNY’s largest division, with nearly 4,000 students, and home to the two largest departments — Psychology and Economics and Business — the Colin Powell School’s mission is to transform the nation’s most diverse student body into tomorrow’s global leaders. These students benefit enormously from early career intervention, including mentoring and professional development. Our efforts have the potential to contribute to the diversification of all professional sectors.
Colin Powell School students bring a diverse perspective, committed work ethic, developed critical thinking tools and qualifying adjective ambition to the table, making them a promising hire, mentee, intern, etc. increase diversity in high-growth sectors in New York City, to ensure Colin Powell School students can benefit from the expertise of partner companies, and to build a robust talent pipeline to a range of career opportunities, at scale.
Through our partnership, your organization makes an investment in the future leadership of New York City and beyond.
