Maria Moran has a B.A. in Spanish from Barnard College, an M.A. in Spanish from The City College of New York (CCNY) and a Ph.D. in Luso-Brazilian Literatures and Languages from the CUNY Graduate Center. She is a Senior Academic Advisor in the Colin Powell School at CCNY. Prior to her work at CCNY, she was the Senior Counselor in the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) at Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus. Dr. Moran has also taught at both institutions. Her area of study centers on Latin American and Caribbean Literatures. She is the author of Subversion y creatividad en los cuentos escritos por mujeres del Caribe hispanico.
