The Office of Student Success kicked off eight fellowships and the Student Success Guide program on August 25th at an event held at the Spitzer School of Architecture. Over 125 students from across the AccountAbility Sustainability Lab Fellowship, Climate Policy Fellows, Colin Powell Fellowship in Leadership and Public Policy, International Human Rights Fellowship, Mixner LGBTQ+ Equal Rights Fellowship, Racial Justice Fellows Program, and the Santander Finance Fellowship, as well as the Student Success Guides, were in attendance to prepare for their 2026-27 program experience, get a professional headshot, and expand their peer networks.

Dean Marc Ostfield shared introductory remarks and invited students to think of themselves as ambassadors and leaders on campus, both for their communities and the causes they care about.

Fellowship programs remain a top priority for the school’s investment in student resources and external stakeholder engagement. They offer a direct pipeline for students to step into the professional world while allowing them to explore their interests and expand their understanding of what is possible. For the Powell School, fellowships are a prime example of interventions that demonstrably lead to social mobility.

About the Student Success Guides Program

The Student Success Guide (SSG) Program connects Colin Powell School students with trained peer mentors who help them navigate college, build community, and make the most of their experience at CCNY. SSGs meet individually with students to offer guidance, share resources, set goals, and help them work through the challenges that come with college life
