Psychology Professor and Mabel Shelby awardee, Adriana Espinosa, recently participated in the inaugural “Advancing Health Equity Addiction Research in Challenging Times” conference held at Rutgers University in May.
In addition to presenting her research during the event, Professor Espinosa also helped lead the planning, organization, and implementation of this conference, which brought together researchers, trainees, and community partners from across the country.
“My involvement in the conference was through my role as co-investigator on the mutual mentoring grant that supports the Resilience Collective, a multi-institutional initiative for advancing health equity in substance use research through ongoing research collaborations and mentorship. The conference showcased the Resilience Collective’s efforts to build partnerships across institutions and promote research aimed at reducing disparities in addiction and related health outcomes.”
Professor Espinosa’s research and her role spearheading initiatives such as the “Advancing Health Equity Addiction Research in Challenging Times” conference demonstrate the strong thought leadership of our faculty members and the relevance of their research topics.
